When I work...

I work four days a week, from about 10am to 6pm UK time. That said, I'm pretty flexible and often work late some days to fit meetings with those in 🇨🇦. & 🇺🇸. My non-work day is usually a Monday, but not always.

How to contact me...

For general stuff, use Slack. I will always see DMs and mentions if I'm working. If you want to book a meeting or call, just pick a time in my calendar and book it in. You can also book via Book a Meeting with Danny.

If it's an actual emergency, you can send me a WhatsApp or SMS message or call - my number is on my slack profile.

Can I ask a few favours, please?

<aside> 💡 I'm not a big fan of really long Manager or Colleague READMEs, but in the interests of speeding things up... here are some favours I ask of everyone I work with. These aren't immutable rules, they're favours I'm asking.

• Requests and Questions
  • Don't be scared to hit me up about anything. I'm here to help.
  • If you ask me to do something it will get added to my list. If it's urgent, has a deadline or is blocking your work then please make that really clear when you ask so I can prioritise accordingly.
• Slack
  • Prefer slack to email for most things. Especially short things. Default to posting in the open and @tagging me, rather than DM.
• Email
  • Although I check emails regularly, I only deal with them in batches. I'll try to reply to important/urgent email within 24 hours, but will often "batch process" the rest once a week. I will eventually respond to all emails that seem to need one. If you need a quick response, say so in the email.
• Meetings
  • If you fancy a chat, just organise a no-agenda zoom call - not every conversation needs a purpose.
  • If you invite me to a meeting with a specific purpose, I'd ❤️ it if could try to answer these questions in the invite:
    • Is there an agenda?
    • What's the desired outcome?
    • For group meetings where it's non-obvious... why am I being invited?

👨🏻 Other stuff

I live in a lovely house in Islington with some friends. I buy a lot of books on business and self-improvement but read at a slower rate than I buy so if you want to borrow a book, I have quite a few.

I also sing a lot of blues music. You can see some here and here. If you're into blues and fancy a jam, I'm game 🎶
